WEAVE Karen Dolls
Buy 2 and 1 more will be given to a refugee child!
These small traditionally dressed Karen dolls are handmade by refugee weavers involved in Women’s Education for Advancement and Empowerment (WEAVE) on the Thai-Burma border. Each doll is made from hand loomed fabric which is hand sewn by women in the refugee camps. Each doll is unique and is dressed in traditional Karen clothing.
WEAVE strives to create a world where empowered women and their children are free to exercise their rights and live peacefully in a just, humane and equitable society. WEAVE’s projects attempt to address some of the problems faced by marginalised ethnic women and their children from Burma in the key areas of education, health, economic empowerment and self reliance.
